Portable Captioning Device Comparison Matrix

Hello AT Community,

Barclay and his team from Virginia's AT Act Program have put together a helpful comparison document on three portable captioning devices — the Caption Companion, Xander Glasses, and Captify Pro — and have asked that we share it with the full membership as a work in progress. This draft may help address questions staff have when evaluating options for clients who could benefit from portable captioning technology.

At the recent Leadership Symposium, Barclay and his team had all three devices on hand and gave hands-on demonstrations to those who were interested in learning more about the technology. They wanted to make this comparison document available to the broader community so that even those who weren't able to see the devices in person can benefit from the information as it comes up in your work with clients.
