DME Repair Certification

We are researching certifications for our durable medical equipment reuse team for certified repairs. Does anyone have recommendations? I found several online, but not sure which have most validity. Any input would be great!

We are also looking for a client management system that is less "clunky" and welcome suggestions to that as well.

Our DOC (Dept of Corrections) partner looked into the Invacare program at one point but I am not sure it's still around?

    Hi Shelley,

For DME repair certifications, I recommend checking with the manufacturers. Be cautious, as many courses, classes, and webinars are focused on seating and positioning evaluations, which may not align with your needs. Instead, look for classes specifically designed for Technician Repair Specialists.

Here are some options to consider:

    • Quantum: Pride offers technical training at Pride Learning Institute.
    • Permobil: Permobil provides relevant learning opportunities at Permobil Academy.
    • Sunrise Medical: Check their resources for relevant training.
    • Invacare: Laura’s suggestion is excellent, as Invacare offers a wide range of products beyond just manual and power wheelchairs. However, my experience with Invacare has been challenging as they are a really large company with numerous departments to navigate.

    I hope this helps!
