Research Update: Smart Cushion Technology for Pressure Relief

I wanted to share an interesting NIDILRR-funded research development in pressure injury prevention. Researchers have developed a smart wheelchair cushion that uses sensors to monitor pressure distribution and provide real-time alerts for pressure relief movements.

The system tracks seated pressure points and can connect to an app for notifications. It's designed to work either as a complete cushion or as a sensor insert for existing cushions.
