Research study on worlds first assessment for evaluating everyday functioning using electronic assistive devices

Be among the lucky few to participate in the development of the world’s first outcome assessment for evaluating satisfaction with everyday functioning using electronic assistive devices. We are recruiting rehabilitation professionals and People With Disabilities (PWD) for our research study. Each participant who completes the content validation on-line survey in its entirety will receive a $25 Amazon gift card as compensation.

This National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research funded study is recruiting two kinds of Content Experts:

  1. Rehabilitation professionals like occupational and physical therapists, rehabilitation engineers, speech-language pathologists, rehabilitation counselors, and Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs).
  2. PWD with physical/sensory/cognitive disabilities.

The participants will be required to complete one brief, approximately 25–30-minute, online Qualtrics survey.

Anyone can participate who meets the following inclusion criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older, resides in the US, and can provide informed consent
  • For Rehabilitation Professionals: minimum of 3 years of experience in the assessment and provision of internet-Connected Assistive Devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, and apps for PWD 18 years of age or older
  • For PWD: minimum of 3 years of experience with using internet-Connected Assistive Devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, and apps daily
  • Adequate cognitive and linguistic (oral) status at a 5th to 7th grade reading level of English
  • Participant has access to and can use email to receive documents, or can be reached by phone

This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) IRB# FY2026-18.
