Device Loan Sanitization

Hi,

OK ABLE Tech's Device Loan Program is looking for some information regarding sanitization of assistive technology:

  1. Does anyone have any experience with using a Zono Ozone Disinfecting cabinet or a similar item
  2. Does anyone have any suggestions for removing cigarette odors from items, especially high-tech communication devices, iPads, laptops, etc.
    1. Any experience with using activated charcoal?
    2. Any suggestions for spray?

Thank you so much!

In NY we use HubScrubs, they are great for cleaning and sanitizing DME and larger equipment. They can be pricey, but it is worth it for the time and energy it saves.

In Minnesota, we use a sanitizer from PhoneSoap for laptops or smaller devices. We use Lysol spray (very careful with electronics - if needed, spray a cloth and wipe the device. Sometimes with the cigarette odors it just takes a little time too.

-We just looked at the PhoneSoap. Does it take out odors like cigarettes or primarily sanitize?
If it's easier to discuss via email, my email is averie.hinchey@okstate.edu. Thank you so much for suggesting it.
