Opportunity for High School & Transition Program Students: QIAT Post-Secondary Pilot Project
The QIAT Post-Secondary (QIAT-PS) Pilot Project is seeking high school juniors, seniors, and students (18–21) in transition programs to participate in a new curriculum on self-determination and assistive technology (AT). This course is designed to help students understand their accommodation needs, select and use AT, and advocate for their rights in postsecondary education or employment.
Who Should Participate?
- Students with IEPs or 504 plans planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college, structured support program, bridge program, vocational training, or competitive employment.
Goals of the Pilot:
- Help students develop self-advocacy skills for accommodations and AT
- Improve their ability to evaluate and adjust accommodations across settings
- Strengthen decision-making about technology use
