Question to programs doing disaster preparedness work

Hi all!

Kathrine from California here.

We have operated a disaster preparedness program out here for a little over four years now, and a part of that work is to provide portable batteries to people experiencing power outages. Our longtime vendor, Yeti, has put out their newest line of batteries and they are significantly heavier than before. We are concerned about that along with a few other concerns, and it has prompted us to look around for a potential new vendor.

My question is, to anyone else purchasing portable batteries to support in emergency preparedness, what brand battery do you use, and why?

Thank you so much for any and all responses, I just really wanted to tap into folks who I knew had put a lot of thought and work into their purchases, in order to give us a good starting point.

    Hi Kathrine,

Colorado has been doing great work in emergency preparedness using EcoFlow Battery Systems (Delta Pro and Delta 2 Max). Check out their Backup Power Options for more info.

For more details, you might reach out to Julia Beams at julia.beems@ucdenver.edu, who leads their emergency preparedness efforts. Excited to hear about other options and experiences from the community—please share!
