Mount Up for Mobility! We need help organizing mount systems!

ASK: Has anyone found a great system to organize and streamline mount designs? Do you display mounts in various demonstration areas (daily living, computer access, speech, etc) or do you keep mounts together in one central area?

BACKGROUND: ATLA has our annual "closure week" coming up November 3-7, during which we inventory all of our reuse, demo, and loan items, along with training, strategic planning, etc. One of our high-priority goals for this closure week is to wrangle our mounting systems. We primarily have a wide variety of Rehadapt and Modular Hose mounts, along with extra adapters, joints, tubes, etc, for both systems.  However, the mounts and components are spread out across multiple demo, loan, and reuse rooms. At least it is all in the same building! However, if staff have to redesign a new mount, it can be extremely time-consuming and overwhelming to find all of the needed components, especially if they aren't familiar with the systems.

I've been rolling around the idea of pulling all of our mounts from demonstration, loan, and reuse, and using one of our empty office spaces as a "mounting room." I envision it as an organized craft or garage storage system where the parts are stored in bins/drawers by mounting system, component, arm/tube length, etc, and there are posters, catalogs, and images of mount designs available for staff to reference. My goal is to create a space where AT Specialists can efficiently design custom mounts tailored to individual needs, fostering creativity and confidence beyond the static, pre-built options that often go unused.
