Successful philanthropic organizations?

Here in Maryland, we've historically been solely federally funded. As part of our initiative to decrease federal fund dependency, we're seeking codification in state statute so that we can expand services to include revenue-generating activities, like AT assessments. However, we're also looking to grants to help with this offset. Have other AT Act programs been successful with larger grant requests, such as grants from Microsoft, Apple, Google, etc.? Or other grants (outside of government) that have been successful?
